Are All Religions the Same?

Introduction

Are all religions the same? Religion can be classified into two groups:

  1. Monotheistic Religions

  2. Non-Monotheistic Religions

It is universally accepted that the differences between Monotheistic and Non-Monotheistic religions are too stark to be reconciled; therefore, for the sake of time, we will focus on the Monotheistic Faiths.

The most preeminent Monotheistic Faiths are:

  • Modern Judaism (which differs significantly from that Faith described in the Bible due to the fact that there is neither an active priesthood nor animal sacrifices nor Temple)

  • Islam

  • Christianity

Do these Three Faiths all worship the Same Deity? Let's Find Out.

Body

Modern Jodaism

Modern Judaism, like Islam, has adopted the idea of a deity who has no son (even though their own Scriptures speak of God as having a son in the Book of Proverbs, Chapter 30, Verse 4).

Modern Judaism (in most of its 16 sects) has inherited from the Bible's Old Testament the concept of a Messiah (Hebrew for "Anointed One"): a Descendent of King David who will sit on his Ancestor's throne and rule over both Israel and the world, bringing peace to God's servants and judgment to Israel's enemies.

What NONE of the Jewish sects accept is the man identified as Jesus of Nazareth being the fulfillment of those Messianic prophecies. Rabbinic texts plainly reject Jesus as Messiah, accusing him, rather, as being a sorcerer and deceiver.

Islam

It is interesting to note that all seven sects of Islam accept Jesus of Nazareth as both a prophet and as the Messiah predicted by the Old Testament. They even confess that Jesus did, in fact, return to Heaven.

On the other hand, they reject His claims to be The Son of God, thereby being equal with GOD.

Islam also denies the New Testament Biblical Record which states that Jesus did indeed die on a Roman cross; stating that He recovered from his injuries WITHOUT physically dying.

If true, this implies, of course, that Jesus of Nazareth did NOT rise from the dead, atoning for and removing the sins of the entire human species.

Christianity

Like Modern Judaism, Christianity is expressed in a number of sects (45,090 at last count); yet the majority of these sects do agree on the following:

  • The Triune GODHEAD: God The Father, God The Word, and God The Holy spirit.

  • God The Word incarnating into the womb of Mary while she was a virgin, being born Jesus The Messiah (Greek, the "Christ).

  • The Virgin Mary, after the Birth of her Firstborn (Christ), having six other children by her husband Joseph.

  • The audible Voice of God The Father declaring Jesus to be His Son after Christ was baptized by John the Baptist.

  • Several Recorded statements by Christ in which He declared Himself to be Deity.

  • The Death of Jesus Christ on a Roman Cross, atoning for and removing the sins of the entire human race.

  • Jesus remaining physically dead for three day and three nights.

  • Jesus the Christ rising physically from the dead and being seen for the next 40 days by over 500 people at one time.

  • The Ascension of Jesus Christ into Heaven, being witnessed by at least the 11 remaining apostles, as well as a number of disciples.

Conclusion

Whatever your view of religion and the afterlife may be, it is clear that, even under the best of circumstances, the three Monotheistic Faiths are clearly irreconcilable, leading to the conclusion that either only one of them is historically accurate, or none of them are.
