There’s a man known as DarkMatter2525 who’s been publishing videos on YouTube since 2008 that assault the viability of religion and, apparently, Christianity in particular.
Through the decades comedians like George Carlin and Bill Maher and popular scientists like Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson have shown a spotlight on religious hypocrisy as proof that religion is, at best, a man-made philosophy.
IS THERE ACTUALLY ANY PROOF THAT GOD EXISTS?
Yes.
Blind people have difficulty sensing light. Deaf people have a challenge when it comes to hearing sound. Sinners lack the capacity to experience the Presence of God. God knew that, with the changes that took place in Adam because of disobedience, that Adam’s descendants would struggle with His Existence; and therefore established a covenant with a human family (Hebrews, Israelis, Jews) through which He could communicate Divine Truth to the entire human race, giving us His Word as a basis of Faith.
But He didn’t stop there. To preserve the true knowledge of Himself in the Earth He had to protect this family–often miraculously–from overwhelming circumstances and superior forces. Much of the Bible chronicles these marvelous Acts of deliverance with secular historical research confirming the existence of the nations involved.
But God didn’t stop there. Intelligently and wisely, God provided One Final Historical Event as incontestable proof of His Existence: The Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Roman Empire has had such a deep and profound influence on our society that it’s impact on our means of government, legal process and commerce can hardly be overestimated. And into the midst of this last great Empire God injected Himself in the Person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Who’s Extraordinary Life and Self-Sacrificing Death overwhelmed an overwhelming Roman Empire.
How did this Carpenter succeed in accomplishing what so many of his predecessors (even Moses) failed to do?
BY RAISING HIMSELF FROM THE DEAD. PHYSICALLY.
Had Christ not been raised from the dead (as He Himself predicted He would), none of Christ’s disciples (even the Apostle Paul of Tarsus, who at first had dedicated himself to crushing the Christian Faith) had the wherewithal to concoct and successfully propagate such a gross lie into what we see today as one of the world’s great religions.
So confident was the converted Paul of Tarsus of this Historical Event that, writing to the Corinthian church, he said that at that point in time most of the 500 people who had seen Jesus Christ alive after His Burial and Resurrection were still available to be interviewed and could testify as witnesses.
